Founded by two Korean immigrants, GEN Korean BBQ began with a single restaurant and a simple belief: everyone deserves to experience the joy of gathering around a grill and enjoying authentic Korean flavors together.

Every protein is marinated in-house using our restaurant formulas. Every side is crafted fresh. We ship it ice-cold so you get the same experience our guests have in every one of our 30+ locations.
How We Got Here
First GEN Opens
LA-born, the first GEN Korean BBQ opens its doors, introducing all-you-can-eat tabletop grilling to a generation of diners.
10 Locations
Rapid growth across California and Nevada. GEN becomes the go-to KBBQ destination for families, date nights, and team celebrations.
The GEN Shop Launches
GEN launches The GEN Shop, bringing restaurant-quality KBBQ meats and pantry staples to the grill at home.
GENJU Soju
GEN develops its own house soju brand, GENJU — a premium, approachable spirit designed to be the perfect KBBQ pairing.

From Hawaii to Texas, GEN Korean BBQ has become America's largest Korean BBQ restaurant group, with a growing DTC business shipping nationwide.
